John S. Rose serves as the Senior Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group to help build the firm's media and technology practice. Mr. Rose is based in BCG's New York office. He was executive vice president at EMI Group PLC for the past three years, responsible for strategy and corporate development, new media, industry and government affairs, and global asset management. Before EMI, he spent almost 20 years with McKinsey & Company, where he was a ... director and co-led the global media and entertainment practice. At EMI, he was responsible for developing and overseeing the firm's digital business, crafting its anti-piracy efforts, leading its cost restructuring, and heading up board-level initiatives to identify and evaluate strategic options for the group. He serves as Director with WNYC Radio, Inc. and MediaNet Digital, Inc. He also sits on numerous music-industry and not-for-profit boards such as those of Young Audiences, and the IFPI. Mr. Rose received a B.A. in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from Wesleyan University, where he was awarded the Graham Prize for natural science. He earned a Masters in Public and Private Management from Yale University. Outside of work, he serves on the Board of Trustees of WNYC and Young Audiences.
