Jørn Lyseggen

CEO & Founder of Meltwater

Jørn Lyseggen is the CEO and founder of Meltwater, a global leader in digital media intelligence. Lyseggen founded Meltwater in 2001, with a starting capital of US$15,000. Without external investments, Meltwater has grown to over 55 offices, over 900 employees and over 20,000 clients across Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, North and South America. Meltwater has successfully evolved into a $125 million SaaS company, providing business insights to SMEs and enterprise clients worldwide.

A Norwegian entrepreneur and patent holder with four start-ups, Lyseggen has two trade sales and one IPO to his credit. Lyseggen also founded the non-profit Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), designed to provide training and mentoring to young African entrepreneurs aspiring to launch new, Ghana-based software companies.

Lyseggen speaks at selected international events. He has been a lecturer and participated on panels at Oxford’s Said Business School, Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Lyseggen has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Bergen Ingeniorhogskole in Norway, a master’s degree in electrical engineering with specialization in digital signal processing and artificial intelligence from Iowa State University, a diploma in financial strategy from Oxford University and training in entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School.

Gulltaggen has traditionally only invited international speakers to the stage. This year we are also presenting a selection of norwegian entrepreneurs who have made success abroad. Jørn Lyseggen is one of the norwegians we look forward to welcoming back to Norway.
