Session title: Programmatic Marketing Demystified

Session description: Why is programmatic marketing different from programmatic buying? How to deliver moments that matter in the age of data and mobile? Audience: marketeers, media and creative agengies. So what is Google’s definition of programmatic marketing, why is it different from programmatic buying and even more important: why should a marketeer and it’s surrounding support system even care? What is the role of marketing and media eco system and how do I get the right message, to the right user, on the right device.

Goswijn Thijssen is the Head of Media Buying Solutions responsible for Googles ad technology offering; Doubleclick Digital Marketing. He has a passion for technology and marketing, which he combines with an in-depth knowledge of the programmatic space. In this role he closely aligns with both agencies and large advertisers across the Benelux & Nordics, often on the forefront of market trends. Prior to Google, Goswijn worked for Exxon, Tridion and Microsoft.

With over six years experience at Exxon/Mobil, four years at an internet start-up (Tridion) , eight years at Microsoft and now started at Google to build the Media Buying Solutions business, Goswijn has developed into a highly experienced and senior business, marketing and sales manager with broad and deep understanding of complex business models within international environments.

His strongest talent lies in taking on big and complex challenges and transforming these into successful businesses. Goswijn is a strong conceptual thinker that identifies key drivers fast, builds structures and processes and knows how to execute and relay all of this to my team and the people around him in an authentic and convincing way.
